June 28, 2016
The Spoke Club - 600 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 1M3
Join us on June 28, 2016 at the Spoke Club for a panel discussion sponsored by Roxul and led by industry professionals, outlining key details related to 6 storey wood-frame construction. This unique workshop will be an engaging, walk through sequence that starts where other presentations have left off. Questions largely unanswered in Ontario, a focus on details that go beyond simple cost comparisons between wood and other conventional building practices, and how wood-frame construction relates to the evolution of building codes, will be discussed.
Our approach is to bring attendees up to speed in respect to the broader knowledge of wood-frame construction, then effectively move towards addressing questions at the detail level. Discussions will include a review of why we have been building with wood, what we have learned thus far, and how wood-frame construction is expected to develop in the future. Structural best practices, airtightness with framing and CLT construction, wood shrinkage and cladding details, punched vs. window wall designs, mid-rise fire mitigation factors, building codes, and much more will be covered throughout the event.
Speakers will include: Dave Petersen, Outside-in Design David Moses, Moses Structural Engineering Alex Lukachko, RDH Building Science Richard Roos, Roxul Please visit our Eventbrite page for ticket and venue information: Cost is $47.46 to attend. There will be a cocktail reception immediately following the workshop.
