Trade tribunal rules in favour of domestic stainless sink industry

EXCLUSIVE NEWSLETTER CONTENT The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), pursuant to the provisions of section 42 of the Special Import Measures Act, has conducted an inquiry to determine whether the dumping and subsidizing of stainless steel sinks, originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China, has caused injury, or retardation, or are threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry. Pursuant to subsection 43(1) of the Special Import Measures Act, the CITT found that the dumping and subsidizing of stainless steel sinks has caused injury to the domestic industry. The complainants in this case were Novanni Stainless Inc. of Coldwater, ON and Franke Kindred Canada Limited of Midland, ON.
