CIPH releases the FAQ on low-lead standards, provides standards updates

November 24, 2015 | By Doug Picklyk

As a follow up to a recent low-lead webinar, the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating (CIPH) and CSA Group have come together to provide clarity on the status of integrating low-lead requirements into national standards.

A number of product standards are being updated to reference the lowlead requirements in NSF 372. CIPH is providing a status table for some of the common standards in the plumbing sector. The table will be updated periodically as information is made available by the certification bodies.

CIPH has also issued a frequently asked questions (FAQ) document (see PDF) that clarifies the current low-lead activities in Canada. The document includes a list of commonly asked questions, a recent schedule of standards and a provincial adoption chart. Each will be updated periodically as new information become available. CIPH advises that these FAQs are to be used as advisory only.
