Unique opportunity to join on-site tour of Oil Sands Development Sites

The Industrial Pipe, Valves & Fittings Council  (IPVF) of the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH) has organized a unique outing for its next meeting. Participants will gather on the evening of October 28 for an IPVF networking reception and dinner at the Edmonton Executive Royal Hotel Leduc-Nisku, followed by a tour the following day of some of Suncor’s key oil sands development sites in Fort McMurray, AB.

Dinner speaker Marvin Schneider, who is infrastructure area director of the Oil Sands Community Alliance, will deliver some key forecasts from the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, as well as provide some higher level perspectives on energy issues including market updates.

Transportation from Edmonton to Fort McMurray will be via a CIPH charter. Highlights of the tour will include: the Fort McMurray Oil Sands Discovery Centre; Suncor Energy’s flue gas desulfurization unit; North Steepbank Extension mine viewpoint; Plant 300; Suncor Mine complex; Wapisew tailings reclamation area; and Giants of Mining Exhibit.
