Plan to MEET in Moncton

The Mechanical Electrical Electronic Technology (MEET) Show returns to Moncton, NB May 7-8, 2014. This biennial event features more than 400 exhibitors and attracts visitors from across Canada and the U.S. For twenty-one editions, MEET has been a comprehensive marketplace, displaying the latest equipment available to the mechanical and electrical industries. It is the second largest industry event in Canada and the biggest trade show east of Montreal.

As part of the 2014 show there will be sessions presented by MEET’s four sponsoring associations: ASHRAE, Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating (CIPH) and Electro-Federation Canada (EFC). Topics include: Integrated Building Design; Canadian Electrical Code Update/Electrical Inspector Panel Discussion; Rainwater and Greywater Challenges; and Developing An Integrated Personal Management System. Attending MEET and taking in the seminars can count as informal education for various professional associations, including Engineers Nova Scotia, Engineers PEI and the APEGNB.

The sponsoring associations are presenting the Third biennial MEET Innovation Awards, honouring innovative products in the mechanical and electrical industries. These include: ASHRAE – NB/PEI Chapter Innovation Award; CIPH Innovation Award; Electro-Federation Canada Innovation Award; and the IES Innovation Award. In addition, MEET is presenting the Plumbing, Electrical Installations, and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning portions of the Skills Canada NB Competition. These challenges serve as provincial qualifiers in the selection of Team New Brunswick members who will participate in the Skills Canada National Competition in Toronto in June 2014.
