UPDATED Online registration is now open for CMPX 2016 at cmpxshow.ca. Slated for March 16 to 18, 2016, the show will feature over 500 exhibitors in the 200,000 sq. ft. Metro Toronto Convention Centre, North Building. The cost is $10 per person for advance registration. Organizers encourage you to check out the roster of daily keynote speakers. Keynote breakfasts are $25 per person, per session, including a continental breakfast.
The first breakfast keynote speaker is HPAC hydronic columnist John Siegenthaler. Siegenthaler’s session on Thursday, March 17, is a 90-minute workshop addressing the basics of low ambient air-to-water heat pumps. He will give examples of how these heat pumps can be combined with hydronic heating and cooling distribution systems. Siegenthaler will also compare the performance and cost of such systems to that of a geothermal-source water-to-water heat pump system.
Other show features
Two new presentations have been announced. Slated for March 16, the sessions are open to all CMPX attendees. Tim Keane will present Water Quality- Legionella Prevention and Fred Bauman will present Comfort and Efficiency of Radiant Heat/Cool Systems and Thermally Activated Building Systems (TABS). A new CMPX “Connections” show floor theatre is the venue for the free Learning Forum sessions. ASHRAE will be hosting courses on Tuesday, March 15 and Wednesday, March 16. At the HRAI Skills Centre, secondary and post-secondary students will compete in industry-specific competitions demonstrating skill sets and knowledge required to be a successful heating systems technician. As in previous years, one lucky visitor to CMPX 2016 will win a 2016 Chevrolet City Express van with custom racking interior by Farmbro, compliments of CMPX.
