Wolseley opens new plumbing, HVAC/R branch in Airdrie, AB

February 3, 2016 | By Doug Picklyk

Wolseley Canada’s has opened its newest plumbing and HVAC/R branch in Airdrie, AB at 127 Kingsview Rd. SE. The announcement was made on February 3 by Keith Strachan, general manager, plumbing and HVAC/R, Southern Alberta and Midwestern Canada. The branch, which is located approximately 25 km north of Calgary, is the second new branch Wolseley has opened in Alberta in 2016. Wolseley opened a plumbing and HVAC/R branch in Edmonton on January 11.

“Our new branch in Airdrie is strategically located near the junction of Highway 567 and the Queen Elizabeth II Highway, which provides easy access for our customers in Airdrie and the surrounding communities to source their plumbing and HVAC/R products,” said Strachan. “In addition, the staff at our Airdrie branch is experienced and knowledgeable, and can provide customers with the right advice to help them get the job done.”

Ivar Vaag is the branch manager for the Airdrie plumbing and HVAC/R branch. Vaag began his career with Wolseley in 1988 as a counter salesperson, and has since held several positions of increasing responsibility within the company, including his most recent position as counter supervisor at Wolseley’s Calgary plumbing branch located at 10775 42nd St SE.

The Airdrie branch is part of a broader 2015-2016 initiative to upgrade existing Wolseley locations, and to open new branches in communities across Canada. In addition to Airdrie, since 2014 the wholesaler has renovated existing branches and opened new locations in Montreal, QC; Dartmouth and Halifax, NS; Brantford, Burlington, Hamilton, Markham and St. Catharines, ON; Brandon, MB; Kerrobert, SK; and Drumheller, Edmonton and Hinton, AB.
