Engineering firm awarded 2018 ENERGY STAR certification for Quebec headquarters

The Quebec City headquarters of engineering firm Ambioner has received the 2018 ENERGY STAR certification with a score of 93.
Strategies used to achieve high energy performance for the 11,000 square foot building–constructed in 2014–include: solar wall, heat pump, natural ventilation, rainwater recovery system and retention ponds, among others.
By its own measurements, Ambioner achieved a 53 per cent reduction in energy consumption compared to a reference based on the Model National Energy Code for Buildings (MNECB) 1997 and a 46 per cent reduction in energy cost consumption compared to a reference based on the MNECB 1997 (MNECB was updated and renamed the National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB) in 2011).
The building also saw a 50 per cent reduction in water consumption.
