Aalberts Industries acquires Shurjoint Piping Products

Mechanical piping system manufacturer sold to Aalberts Industries N.V.

Aalberts Industries N.V. has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Shurjoint Piping Products USA, Inc., Haohan Metal Co. Ltd. and Shurjoint Metals Inc. Shurjoint is known for the development, manufacturing, sales and distribution of grooved components for mechanical piping systems.

Founded in 1974 in Taiwan where it is based, along with China, Shurjoint’s engineering, sales and distribution are managed in North America. The company’s portfolio of mechanical piping components includes more than 3,000 items in sizes from 1/2″ to 104″.

According to a company release, “groove systems are a perfect strategic fit to the existing connection technology portfolio in our Building Installations business. It enables us to strengthen our project offering with a complete range of sizes, for all kind of end markets, for a variety of piping materials. This expanded connection programme will be combined with our valve portfolio, which offers many opportunities for growth and innovations.”

Founder Sam Wang and his family, including the second generation, will continue to lead the locations in Taiwan and China. Mark Beach, who is based in Shurjoint USA, has more than 35 years of experience in sales and business development. He and the Shurjoint team will be responsible for sales growth and optimising Shurjoint’s portfolio in Europe, North America, Middle East and Asia.

Aalberts Industries N.V. acquired Conbraco Industries in 2010. Conbraco manufactures obronze, brass, steel and stainless steel valves and a range of backflow preventers sold mainly in the commercial, industrial and consumer market (retail) under the brand APOLLO Valves.
