Energy efficient construction incentives offered through new NB Power program

June 29, 2018 | By Jillian Morgan

NB Power has launched the New Home Energy Savings Program, which offers homeowners up to $10,000 in incentives for energy efficient construction. Through the program, the builder or homebuyer will receive energy efficient building plan recommendations.

The program is performance-based, and aims to encourage builders and homebuyers to reduce energy consumption by going beyond the minimums prescribed in the National Building Code.

New homes can be modelled after three incentive levels. With each level, the efficiency and incentive are higher. A net zero home represents the highest level and most significant incentive.

Builders must sign and agree to a Builder Agreement to participate in the New Home Energy Savings Program. www.nbpower.com
