
Feds and Province of Newfoundland Funding 50% of Air-to-Water Heat Pump Project

Sea-Force Hyperbaric Inc. in St. John’s, Newfoundland has received $36,910 from the federal government and $36,910 from the provincial government, with the company itself contributing $73,820, all in support of replacing three oil furnaces with air-to-water heat pumps at the company’s hyperbaric reception facility. The project is projected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions up to 150 tonnes annually.
The Sea-Force Hyperbaric reception facility, located next to the downtown St. John’s dockyard, was commissioned in 2012 and treats divers working in the offshore industry.
It is the only shore-based hyperbaric reception facility in North America.
