ASHRAE expands building energy labeling program

ASHRAE’s Building Energy Quotient program, which is designed to lower building operating costs and increase value, has been expanded to include the As Designed label. The label rates the building’s potential energy use under standardized condition independent of the building’s occupancy and usage. It has been added to the In Operation label, which rates the building’s actual measured energy use by the building’s occupancy and usage.
