Celebrating the 4th Annual World Refrigeration Day

More than 15 million people are employed worldwide in the refrigeration sector.

The fourth annual World Refrigeration Day will take place on June 26 to celebrate the contribution that refrigeration and air conditioning makes to our societies.

The theme this year is: Cooling Matters and aims to make the public aware of cooling’s essential benefits, how cooling impacts daily life, and how technology choices foster environmental well-being of future generations.

The inaugural World Refrigeration Day in 2019, themed Refrigerants4Life, saw more that 800 physical events take place in roughly 153 countries around the world.

In 2020, the theme for World Refrigeration Day was: ColdChain4Life and celebrated the importance of the refrigerated cold chain in sustaining life.

The World Refrigeration Day 2021 campaign focused on careers in the refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pumps industry and was named: Cooling Champions: Cool Careers for a Better World.

More than 15 million people are employed worldwide in the refrigeration sector. The total number of refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat-pump systems in operation worldwide is around 5 billion.
