The Eddy Group, a provider of plumbing, HVAC and electrical supplies for Canada’s Maritimes, is opening a new temporary location following a fire that destroyed its Bathurst, NB branch and head office in mid-May.

“We are pleased to announce the temporary new location for our Bathurst branch and head office at 2200 Vanier Boulevard, Bathurst NB, E2A 7B7,” the company said on LinkedIn. “We are deeply grateful for the community support and encouragement during this time. As we rebuild, we look forward to making this new location our home.”

This branch will act as the company’s temporary head office and serve the local area as the Eddy Group looks to rebuild its permanent home on the original site.

“Our full intention is to build bigger and better at the same location,” said Keith Assaff, co-President of the Eddy Group.

Both the building and its inventory were destroyed in the fire, with authorities still investigating the cause. While no one was injured in the incident, the size of the fire caused nearly 100 homes in the area to be evacuated.

Incorporated by founder George Eddy in 1909, the Eddy Group has grown its service across the Maritimes, with locations in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
