Organization offers illustrated guides
Three illustrated guides have been developed by the Homeowner Protection Office (HPO) in British Columbia to assist residential builders and industry stakeholders in understanding and complying with the new requirements in Section 9.36 of the 2012 British Columbia Building Code for housing and small buildings. The requirements come into effect on December 19, 2014. There is a specific guide for each climate zone in BC. HPO, which is a branch of BC Housing, is responsible for licensing residential builders and building envelope renovators province-wide; administering owner builder authorizations; and carrying out research and education which benefits the residential construction industry and consumers.
