Flexible housing stands the test of time

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) is offering the FlexHousing Pocket Planner, which describes an approach to designing homes that are versatile and flexible, and can be adapted to meet the varying and changing needs of a household. The goal is to maintain people in their homes through significant events and shifts in their lives, without having to undertake renovations or a move to another home. HPAC contributor Robert Bean identified “flexible” housing and the aging demographic in his article titled Meeting The Need For Lifetime Housing (pdf at right).
