Ford Transit and F-150 vehicles recalled

Over 100,000 vehicles were recalled in North America.

Ford Motor Company has recalled Transit and F-150 vehicles throughout North America. In Canada, 13,564 vehicles were recalled due to increased risk of fire, accident/injury or crash.

The recall impacts a total of 8,365 2015-17 Ford Transit vehicles in Canada. The trailers, equipped with a trailer tow module, were recalled due to a water intrusion malfunction.

The 2018 Ford F-150 with a 3.3-litre engine, six-speed transmission and column-mounted shift level was recalled for inaccurate gear selection. 2,023 of these vehicles were recalled in Canada and 15,031 in North America.

Ford 2017 F-150 models with a 10-speed transmission were recalled for an inability to shift the transmission using the shift lever. The recall included 14,952 vehicles in North America and 3,169 in Canada.

Possible loss of motive power and engine failure resulted in a recall of 2018 F-150 vehicles with a 3.5-litre engine – a total of 30 in North America and seven in Canada. At the time of the recall these vehicles had not left dealerships, according to Ford.

Ford said it was not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with the recalls but is aware of two reports of fires on Canadian Ford Transit fleet vehicles potentially related to the module malfunction.

Repairs and replacements by the dealership will be performed at no cost to the customer, according to Ford. www.ford.ca
