Napoleon Group of Companies and Laurentide Controls are among the winners of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for 2013. Established in 1993, the national awards program honours Canadian companies that have implemented world-class business practices and created value in innovative ways. In 2013, a total of 47 Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $10-million were recognized.

Napoleon is North America’s largest privately-owned manufacturer of wood and gas fireplaces, gourmet gas and charcoal grills, outdoor living products and heating and cooling products, as well as the only gas furnace maker in Canada. Headquartered in Barrie, ON, Napoleon has more than 1000 employees.

Located in Kirkland, QC, Laurentide Controls employs more than 250 people and markets a range of automation solutions developed by Emerson Process Management. In 2011, the company acquired Steam and Industrial Equipment (SIE), a distributor of plumbing equipment and an assembler of air, steam, liquid and gas safety valves.

Imperial Manufacturing Group, a manufacturer of HVAC, stove and fireplace maintenance products, and building products, and The Master Group, an independent distributor of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilation systems, were gold standard winners for maintaining their Canada’s Best Managed Companies designation for their fourth consecutive year.
