On Friday, May 10th team members from Milwaukee Tool Canada, a subsidiary of Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd. (TTI), ventured to the Rouge National Urban Park in the Greater Toronto Area to celebrate their organization’s 100th anniversary with a special tree planting project, with the goal of planting 100 trees for 100 years.

Craig Baxter, president of TTI Canada, thanked everyone in attendance, and he singled out Yvonne Chan, director of brand marketing with Milwaukee Tool Canada, for making the event happen.

The project was led by Tree Canada, a national non-profit organization dedicated to planting and nurturing trees in rural and urban environments, along with Friends of the Rouge Watershed, custodians who monitor and maintain sections of the Rouge National Urban Park.

Craig Baxter, group president TTI Canada, pitched in and planted some seedlings. Before the planting began Baxter welcomed and thanked the group of just over 30 Milwaukee Tool Canada colleagues in attendance.

“Celebrating 100 years is a big deal for us this year,” said Baxter “This is one part of a much bigger picture for our 100th anniversary. And we’ve got folks from every function—sales, marketing, customer service, product service, co-op students—so thank you to everyone who has come out.”

Following a short trek through the park to the planting location, the team members observed a brief tree planting tutorial and then within minutes accomplished its planting of 100 trees for 100 years.
