January 20, 2015 | By HPAC Magazine

Following its January 13, 2015 meeting in Toronto, ON, the National Trade Contractors Coalition of Canada (NTCCC) announced that it is holding a National Prompt Payment Summit.

“Prompt payment discussions are taking place virtually everywhere across Canada and progress is being made in varying degrees from jurisdiction to jurisdiction” said NTCCC chairman, Brad Diggens, president of MJS Mechanical Limited, Calgary, AB.

“The purpose of such a summit is to invite provincial representatives of prompt payment groups to meet at the same time and same venue, the purpose of which will facilitate the sharing of information, which will lead to future cooperative efforts and coordination amongst all interested parties,” added Diggens.

In addition to addressing the provincial initiatives, discussion and communication will take place regarding industry’s efforts to include prompt payment provisions at the federal level. This will affect federal construction projects across Canada. NTCCC expects to hold the summit in April, 2015, in Ottawa, ON. For more information, contact Richard McKeagan (rick@mcac.ca), Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada (MCAC) president.

The NTCCC was established in 2004 to provide an organized forum for Canada’s national trade organizations to share information, resources, and to collaborate on issues that are of common interest. Its membership is comprised of national trade organizations.
