New requirements for residential boilers now in effect

September 1, 2012 | By HPAC Magazine

Effective September 1, 2012, all residential gas, oil-fired and electric hot water boilers that have their manufacturing process completed on or after that date are required to meet the prescriptive requirement of an automatic means of adjusting the temperature of the water supplied by the boiler to ensure that an incremental change in inferred heat load produces a corresponding incremental change in temperature of the water supplied. Affected products include boilers with an input rate of less than 88 kilowatts (300 000 Btuh). For more information contact David Terlizzi at HRAI, tel. 800-267-2231, ext 263.
