Ontario’s minimum wage going up

March 20, 2015 | By HPAC Magazine

The general minimum wage, including rates for jobs in special categories, will be $11.25 per hour in Ontario starting next October. The 25-cent increase comes after the province amended the Employment Standards Act and enacted legislation last fall to tie minimum wage with Ontario’s Consumer Price Index (CPI). As such, increases are to be announced on April 1 and take effect on October 1 of each year. Since 2003, there have been nine minimum-wage increases. www.labour.gov.on.ca/english/es/pubs/guide/minwage.php
