Register today for CanSIA Webinar: Clarification on Ontario Solar PV Installer Requirements and Qualifications

March 14, 2012 | By HPAC Magazine

Due to recent solar related accidents the Ontario Ministry of Labour (MOL) is examining and re-evaluating their enforcement of existing regulations related to the installation, maintenance and construction of solar PV module systems of all sizes. The MOL has released an updated interim ‘Enforcement Position’ that sets forth the requirements and qualifications required to install solar PV modules in Ontario. A webinar presented by CanSIA on March 16, 2012 will clarify the MOL position. Registrants will have an opportunity to gain information and ask questions on how this will impact their business and how it will be applied in the field and on the roof. Webinar Participants include: Robert Landry, provincial specialist, construction health and safety program, MOL; Linda Jones, manager, standards and assessment, Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU); Larissa Hretchka, manager, standards and assessment, Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU); and Ted Olechna, director, codes and standards and chief engineer, Electrical Safety Authority (ESA).
