ASHRAE has opened registration for the 2020 ASHRAE Annual Conference, taking place June 27 to July 1 in Austin, Texas. Early bird registration ends May 3.
“ASHRAE members are facing a major evolutionary change in how buildings and energy systems interact,” said Bing Liu, chair of the 2020 Annual Conference in a media release. “Instead of individual equipment and systems, buildings are becoming integrated, flexible and resilient systems to respond to the climate change challenges. The 2020 ASHRAE Annual Conference aims to address these challenges and features a strong technical program with a wide range of topics applicable to engineers, architects, designers and professionals.”
The five-day conference includes eight conference tracks, and more than 100 technical committee meetings will take place concurrently with the conference.
The conference’s technical program will include new tracks, such as Grid-Interactive Efficient Built Environment, which focuses on the effects of industry trends in grid-enabled buildings on system, building and community design practices. The new track, Zero Energy Buildings and Communities: Opportunities and Challenge, will explore topics such as integrated design approach, zero energy design tools and resources, on-site renewable generation, state-of-art technologies and more.
Conference tracks:
- fundamentals and applications
- HVAC/R systems and equipment
- research summit
- professional development
- grid-interactive efficient built environment
- multifamily and residential buildings
- resilient buildings and communities
- zero energy buildings and communities: opportunities and challenges
