The Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA) of Canada is holding its 74th National Conference in Palm Springs, CA on November 16 to 19. Appropriately themed “The Heat Is On,” the event will be held at the Omni Ranchos Las Palmas Resort and Spa.

Breakfast speaker Malarchuk was born in Grand Prairie, AB, and raised in Edmonton. He played junior hockey in the Western Hockey League before moving on to play professionally in the NHL for the Quebec Nordiques, the Washington Capitals, and the Buffalo Sabres, and later in the IHL for the Las Vegas Thunder. Malarchuk compiled a career record of 141 wins, 130 losses, 45 ties, 12 shutouts, and an .885 save percentage. He went on to serve as head coach and goaltending coach until he retired from the Calgary Flames in 2014. Aside from his sports achievements, Malarchuk is known as a mental health advocate.
