RenewAire’s HVAC manufacturing plant has achieved LEED Gold certification.

The 111,000-square-foot, 35 year-old building in Waunakee, Wis. received 60 out of a possible 110 points for its efforts. Of the 60 points awarded, RenewAire received 14 in the “Optimize Energy Performance” category. The ERVs and DOAS processes, which reduce cooling/heating loads and result in smaller chillers and boilers and less refrigerants, earned two points in the refrigerant management category. Other energy performance credits came from LED lighting, which cut lighting costs by 50 per cent compared to industrial/office space lighting.

“This new facility supports our mission of fostering sustainability, helping the planet by reducing energy use and at the same time improving human health and wellbeing,” said Chuck Gates, CEO, RenewAire, in a release.

RenewAire has previously received two Green Globes and a LEED Silver certification for its former headquarters, a 32,000-square-foot Madison-based indoor soccer stadium it retrofitted in 2005 for its manufacturing headquarters.
