SaskEnergy extends and enhances boiler, HVAC incentive programs

April 1, 2014 | By HPAC Magazine

SaskEnergy has announced that based on industry demand, Saskatchewan Commercial Energy Efficiency programs offered exclusively through participating SaskEnergy Network Members have been enhanced and renewed (previous programs ended in November 2013). The Commercial Boiler Program, which is designed to encourage the use of high-efficiency natural gas boilers in commercial new construction and retrofits, provides incentives to help offset the incremental price of a high efficiency natural gas condensing boiler over the purchase price of a standard-efficiency boiler. This program has been extended to November 30, 2014. Slated to end November 30, 2015, the Commercial HVAC Program is designed to encourage the use of high-efficiency natural gas furnaces, boilers, rooftop units, unit heaters, and infrared radiant heaters in both commercial new construction and retrofit applications. Available through participating SaskEnergy Commercial & Residential Network Members, incentives are based on the type, size, and number of units installed. To qualify for the program, a boiler plant must have an input rating of less than 400,000 Btu.
