UPDATE: CMPX 2020 POSTPONED
March 6, 2020 | By HPAC Magazine
As the reported risk of COVID-19 to Ontarians continues to remain low, the show organizers will continue to monitor developments and will provide updates as necessary.
In an effort to get out in front of any concerns running through the industry, on Thursday, March 12th, the show organizers for CMPX 2020 announced that the show will go on. Then first thing Friday the 13th of March, in a letter to the industry, the CMPX 2020 Show organizers reported the event will be postponed until further notice.
“It’s amazing how fast the world moves; just 10 days ago we were confident that the 2020 CMPX Show would run as expected. Even earlier this week we were re-assured when the Ontario Government made a public announcement (March 10th) that events should continue as planned in the Province. Roll the clock ahead 48 hours and it’s a different world,” said show organizers.
The boards of directors and senior business leaders of both CIPH and HRAI, the co-producers of the CMPX event, had been monitoring the events surrounding the global COVID-19 crisis and discussions about the correct course of action evolved on a daily and hourly basis, ultimately leading to the announcement of postponing the event.
For exhibitors who were planning to be at the event, the organizers will communicate details as they become available and at this time are requesting patience and support as we work through the issues.
As of March 11, there had been 12 exhibitor cancellations leaving still more than 525 exhibitors.
