The Canadian Oil Heat Association (COHA) has launched Best Practices. Best Solutions for safe oil storage, which is a public education campaign to raise homeowner awareness of proper installation methods and the importance of regular maintenance. The campaign also identifies the best safe oil storage solutions for the 21st century. In addition to an existing fact sheet that provides a consistent message to homeowners and the public, two consumer brochures have been published. They outline the importance of upgrading single-wall steel oil tanks to today’s oilheat storage solutions. The Best Practices – Best Solutions for safe oil storage (Tank Matrix) and Top 10 Recommendations on Today’s Oilheat Storage Solutions brochures focus on the loss prevention key message: oil leaks can be prevented.
