The College requests written submissions from interested parties.
The Board of Governors of the Ontario College of Trades (the College) has received a request from the Trade Board for the Sprinkler and Fire Protection Installer that a trade classification review be undertaken to determine whether this trade should be reclassified as a compulsory trade. The College is calling for written submissions regarding the issue from skilled tradespeople and interested stakeholders. Submissions must meet the criteria set out on the College’s website: www.collegeoftrades.ca/about/review-panels/trade-classification. The deadline for written submissions is November 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Once the deadline has passed, individuals who made a written submission will be invited to make an oral submission to a Review Panel that is independent of the College. The independent Review Panel will then make a decision on the classification of the trade based solely on the written and oral submissions received.
