Ingrid Mattsson Carlson-Holohan Award

Mattsson has participated in several fundraising, education and code development projects in her career. She was on the board of directors for the Radiant Panel Association and Radiant Professional Alliance, among others.

Ingrid Mattsson, Uponor director of brand and corporate social responsibility, was presented the Carlson-Holohan Award of Excellence at AHR Expo in Chicago, IL.

Mattsson accepted the award over speakerphone during the Radiant Professionals Alliance’s Membership Reception.

The award recognizes an individual’s contributions in the field of steam and hydronics.

Criteria includes a current or past record of fundraising for an industry cause, proven volunteer activities in association or committee work and demonstrated leadership in the industry as an educator and mentor.

Until 2020, Mattsson will act as the sole guardian of “Gil’s wheel” – the original Bell and Gossett sizing wheel, invented by Gil Carlson.

Carlson (1922-1994) was the former director of technical services at Bell and Gossett. His wheel was eventually mass-produced as the Bell & Gossett System Syzer.

Carlson’s wheel was part of Dan Holohan’s personal collection of industry literature and artifacts. Holohan is the founder of HeatingHelp.com, and jointly created the award with Robert Bean of healthyheating.com.

Mattsson will be required to bring the wheel to any seminar or public speaking engagement she delivers and tell the story of Gil’s wheel. She will also search for a candidate to carry the award forward and make an investment to maintain the condition of the wheel. www.healthyheating.com
