July 7, 2013 | By HPAC Magazine

Over the past month, Wolseley Canada held two fundraising sporting events and all proceeds were donated to Special Olympics (SO). The 8th Annual Wolseley Classic, held June 5 at the Bel Acres Golf and Country Club in Winnipeg, MB, had the support of 156 golfers, including 24 sponsors. An impressive $28,000 was raised for SO Manitoba. The first place Wolseley Engineered Pipe (EPG) Manitoba team consisting of Brian Melville, Wolseley EPG Manitoba, and Russell Arnason, Kevin Gromnisky and Jamie Plesh, all from Arnason Industries, took home the grand prize.
On June 15, approximately 55 people attended the SO baseball tournament held at Glenashton Park in Oakville, ON, to raise funds for SO Ontario. Four teams competed in the tournament, with Wolseley employees from its distribution centre, head office, supply chain and shared purchasing centre departments, emerging as the victors.
