The centre is part of Ouellet’s rationalization and modernization plan. The company has invested nearly $3.5 million transforming the old factory into a functional distribution centre.

Additionally, Ouellet is working on the automation of electric baseboard assembly, which is an investment of $2 million, and the implementation of a new enterprise management computer system (ERP), which is an investment of $3 million. Both projects are expected to be completed by early 2017.

Ouellet Canada is part of the Ouellet Canada Group Inc., which also owns Industries Dettson Inc., located in Sherbrooke, QC, Hazloc Heaters in Calgary, AB, and Nanjing Ouellet, a manufacturing plant in China.

Background

Ouellet Canada, headquartered in l’Islet on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec, designs, manufactures, distributes, and markets standard, custom-made, and distinctive products. The company had humble beginnings. Charles-Émile Ouellet launched the business from a makeshift workshop in his home, but it was not long before the little business became much more than a backyard venture.

Constantly pushing the limits of innovation and keeping research and production tightly focused on high-performance electrical heating products, Ouellet progressively advanced in the Quebec, Canadian, American, and overseas markets. Today, with a highly qualified workforce of over 225 employees and 100,000 square feet of production facilities, Ouellet Canada serves the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
