New research from the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) is helping educate Ontarians and limit the spread of COVID-19.

OSPE’s Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Advisory Group published three reports on airborne COVID transmission and protective measures. Authored by a multi-disciplinary panel of experts, these reports equip individuals, business owners, government leaders, and others to limit the spread of COVID and improve health and well-being through indoor air quality.

The first of these reports, How COVID Spreads, identifies the most common route of COVID-19 transmission: airborne spread in indoor spaces. The Core Recommendations for Safer Indoor Air report outlines six concrete steps that homeowners and building managers can take to improve indoor air quality (including ventilation and filtration techniques). The third report, Face Coverings for COVID-19 Prevention, offers up-to-date guidance on masking (including what type of mask to wear, when and where masks should be worn, and how to ensure proper mask fit).
