ENERGY STAR has designated Coleman Echelon Series gas furnaces Most Efficient 2017, when combined with touch-screen communicating control thermostats.

Coleman’s Echelon CP9C models, which also received recognition in Consumers Digest Best Buy, were among the 25 furnaces recognized by ENERGY STAR.

In order for a furnace to be eligible for Most Efficient recognition, it must be ENERGY STAR certified, have an AFUE of 97 per cent or higher, and provide system status and messaging capabilities.

Echelon furnaces have an AFUE of 97.5 per cent and above, and feature a modulating burner design. The units are equipped with EcoTrak technology intended to customize blower operation for a specific climate. The CP9C claims 15 to 25 per cent higher energy efficiency compared to standard models. It features a rotatable inducer and system self-monitoring.

Other products recognized through the program include boilers, ceiling fans, central air conditioners, air-source heat pumps and geothermal heat pumps, clothes dryers and washers, computer monitors, dishwashers, ductless air conditioners and heat pumps, refrigerators, ventilating fans and residential windows. www.colemanac.com
