Nortek earns U.S. patent for hot gas reheat method

December 3, 2018 | By Jillian Morgan

Nortek Global HVAC has been granted a U.S. patent for a method of controlling and stabilizing hot gas reheat circuits in air conditioning systems.

Four of the company’s employees are listed as inventors: James Downie, controls department manager; Richard Reed, design engineer; Richard Blasko, director of engineering; and John McKissack, product manager.

Avinash Gholap, a former cooling research engineer at the company, is also listed as an inventor.

The method eliminates hot gas reheat circuit instability and the risk potential of freezing experienced by some current air conditioning reheat technology, especially on dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS) when operating during cold and high humidity ambient conditions. www.nortekhvac.com
