Kevin Wong accepts the Archie Watt-Industry Sector Award from OGWA Executive Director Craig Stainton.

Kevin Wong has won the 15th Archie Watt-Industry Sector Award, presented at the annual Ontario Ground Water Association (OGWA) Meeting in Alliston, ON.

The OGWA gave Wong the award in recognition of his contributions and ongoing work in sustaining ground water resources. A plaque is presented to the recipient and the large trophy is kept on permanent display at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Peterborough, ON.

“Kevin has been an active participant in the professional development, regulations development and standards development community, serving on several committees, task groups and industry advisory bodies over the years,” said CIPH president and general manager Ralph Suppa. “He has been a key voice of the Canadian Water Quality Association and the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating within the plumbing and water resources community in both the U.S. and Canada.”

Wong noted that the award was the result of the dedication of many at the ceremony that he has worked and mentored with over the last two decades. “Archie’s legacy lives in all of us, so is up to us to fulfill it,” he said. “This room is filled with lots of people who do a lot to protect groundwater. That work is more important now more than ever.”
