Teledyne FLIR has announced its FLIR One Edge Pro, a wireless thermal-visible camera for mobile devices.

Unlike previous FLIR One models, the reimagined FLIR One Edge Pro doesn’t need to be physically connected to its companion mobile device, providing improved flexibility for thermal inspections.

Designed to fit comfortably in an operators hand, it also has a spring-loaded clip designed to allow users to attach the camera to many types of mobile phones and tablets.

The combined Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection allow the Edge Pro to operate up to 30 meters away from a user’s mobile device, providing the ability to inspect hard-to-reach places.

The unit features a 160×120 resolution radiometric Lepton thermal imaging camera paired with a visible camera and those two images are brought together via the company’s MSX image enhancement feature that overlays the edge detail of the visible camera onto the thermal image providing context and clarity.
