A joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Klein Tools has been issued for Klein Tools’ digital clamp metres. The metres can fail to give an accurate voltage reading, which results in the operator falsely believing the electrical power is off which poses shock, electrocution and burn hazards.
Roughly 3300 metres have been sold in Canada, however no incidents or injuries have been reported to date. Customers are asked to stop using the recalled product and contact Klein Tools to receive postage paid labels to return the clamp metres for free replacement units.
