HRAI announces recipients of Orvil L. Davie Award

HRAI chair Ron Robinson has announced the most recent recipients of HRAI’s Orvil L. Davie Memorial Fund bursary. Josh Brawn of New Brunswick Community College in Fredericton, NB and Nick Kostaniuk of Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton, AB are the recipients of the $1000 bursary award. Brawn will be completing his certificate of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician in June 2012. Ewart Kenney of Wolseley Mechanical the award to Brawn. Nick Kostaniuk will be completing his HVAC Specialist certificate in May 2013. Tony Buhnai of Sinclair Supply presented  Kostaniuk with his award in Sinclair Supply head office in Edmonton, AB. Recipients of the Orvil L. Davie Bursary can apply the award to their registration/tuition fees, training materials, or travel and living expenses related to their course of study. The Orvil L. Davie Memorial Fund was established in 1987 in honour of HRAI’s first chair, Orvil L. Davie.  The purpose of the fund is to encourage students to seek a career in the HVAC/R industry by providing bursaries to those requiring financial assistance.  Over 70 per cent of the current fund balance consists of direct donations from companies in the HVAC/R industry.
