The 2011 NECB provides model energy efficiency requirements for almost all types of buildings, except smaller buildings and housing covered in Part 9 of the National Building Code of Canada. It was prepared by the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes in collaboration with the provinces and territories and with technical support and funding provided by the National Research Council of Canada and Natural Resources Canada.
