Slight increase in BC Safety Authority enforcement actions in 2011

A total of 195 enforcement actions were taken by the BC Safety Authority (BCSA) against contractors, equipment owners and others doing work or using regulated equipment in BCSA-regulated technologies in 2011, compared to 192 in 2010. As part of an ongoing effort by the BC Safety Authority to promote compliance with safety standards and legislation, 180 compliance orders were issued in 2011 along with 13 monetary penalties and two suspensions.
