Mercedes-Benz vans have won several categories in the 2017 Vincentric Best Fleet Value in Canada awards. Vincentric does monthly analyses of the cost of ownership on over 2,000 vehicle configurations, based on typical use in Canadian fleets. These studies account for: depreciation; fees and taxes; financing; fuel; insurance; maintenance; repairs; and opportunity cost. Segment winners are identified by having the lowest fleet lifecycle cost in the most scenarios. Mercedes-Benz Vans won in the following segments:

  • Mid-Size Commercial Passenger Van: Mercedes-Benz Metris passenger van;
  • Mid-Size Commercial Cargo Van: Mercedes-Benz Metris cargo van;
  • Full-Size 3/4-Ton Passenger Van: Sprinter Passenger Van 2500 V6 Standard Roof 144″ WB; and
  • Full-Size 3/4-Ton Cargo Van: Sprinter cargo van 2500 V6 standard roof 144″ WB.

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has now won in the Full-Size 3/4-Ton Cargo and Passenger categories for the past six years, while the Mercedes-Benz Metris Passenger and Cargo Vans have each earned awards for the second year in a row.

    I find that hard to believe that MB won Best Fleet Value in Canada Award.
    Just goes to show don’t believe everything you read.
    I owned a Sprinter and for a small company that unit was a money pit.
    I suspect the factory warranty is picking up a lot of ownership costs.
    We couldn’t afford the down time either.
    MB must have made huge improvements or the results are off.
    Go to Sprinter Forum USA, type in NCV 3 talk and read a few.
    If you want to do a HVAC survey then base it on 6-8 years of ownership, we keep every thing a minimum 5 years. Sold our Sprinter at 8 years with 220,000 KM, half of that was hi-way travel. Never again.
