Over 600 people attended the inaugural Symposium held Tuesday, April 4 at the International Centre located near the Toronto International Airport.
The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) in cooperation with the Ontario Geothermal Association (OGA) attracted over 600 people to its inaugural Heat Pump Symposium held Tuesday, April 4 at the International Centre located near the Toronto International Airport.
The sold out event, which included some 60 exhibitors and over 25 speakers, addressed political will and government policies encouraging heat pump adoption in Canada along with technical sessions addressing both residential and commercial heat pump applications.
HPAC was on hand and distributed a compendium of heat pump related articles in a special edition: Heat Pumps – Explanations and Installations.
The day also included some international flavour with a presentation on Sweden’s early adoption of heat pump technology, and also included plenty of local flavour with heat pump advocates representing contractor, manufacturer and property developer perspectives.
The transition to heat pumps for heating and cooling of homes and buildings is underway in Canada, and HRAI is on board as a partner with the Building Decarbonization Alliance, an initiative of the Transition Accelerator, whose objective is keeping the momentum moving forward towards the country’s net zero carbon goals.
This sold out event shows the HVAC/R industry is interested in learning more about taking on this challenge.
