Good news for Yukon residents as Good Energy Rebate Program is extended

March 5, 2014 | By HPAC Magazine

The Yukon’s Good Energy Rebate Program, which includes incentives for water efficient toilets, solar water heaters, drain water heat recovery systems (DWHRS) and heating appliances, has been extended to March 31, 2015. Originally slated to end March 15, 2014, rebates are based on improved energy efficiency and “market transformation.” In the heating appliance category for example, ULC safety certified wood pellet furnace/boilers may be eligible for a rebate of 20 per cent of the pretax purchase price up to $800. Some rebates are increased for those living in communities served by diesel-electric generation. The program is administered by Yukon Government’s Energy Solutions Centre.
