The Ontario Geothermal Association (OGA), which is an affiliate association of the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI), will be holding its conference from November 13-14, 2014 at Taboo Resort in Gravenhurst, ON. Jack DiEnna of Geothermal National & International Initiative (GEO-NII)* opens the event with his presentation titled: Geothermal Technology, The Time is Now. He will address where geothermal technology is going and what the industry has to do to support it. Later in the day keynote speaker Bob Delaney, the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Energy will speak on the government’s Long Term Energy Plan, its renewed emphasis on energy conservation (“Conservation First”) and recent ministerial directives to the Ontario Power Authority and local delivery companies (electric utilities). These directives place a special emphasis on the potential role for geothermal in meeting the Province’s energy policy objectives. The conference will continue on November 14 with business sessions and opportunities for networking (see program at right).

* GEO-NII is an alliance of geothermal heat pump (GHP) industry professionals working to achieve the goals of the “Road to 30%” for the GHP industry, both nationally & internationally, though federal, state, and local governmental officials, utilities providers, the design community, the HVAC industry, and end users in all market segments.
