The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC) and the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) will hold their first joint event, entitled Renewable Heat Policy and Technology: Integrating Solar and Geothermal Technologies, at University of Toronto’s Hart House on the downtown St George’s campus, on January 31, 2013. “We have targeted this event to kick-start a vital but often hidden discussion in Canada. That discussion is about how we can heat and cool our buildings and processes most efficiently by using solar and geothermal sources.” said Ted Kantrowitz, CGC vice president. “Innovative integration of solar thermal, solar photovoltaic and heat pump technology holds a significant promise for heating and cooling Canadian buildings – a sector that accounts for approximately 17 per cent of all primary energy use in Canada,” added Wes Johnston, direct of policy and research at the Canadian Solar Industries Association.
