April 29, 2012 | By HPAC Magazine

The Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada (BOMA Canada) has released the English version of its third annual BOMA BESt (Building Environmental Standards) program Energy and Environmental Report (referred to as BBEER). The report offers relevant and timely information related to the Canadian commercial real estate industry’s performance across a range of environmental impact areas, including energy, water, waste reduction and site enhancement, indoor environment, emissions and effluents, and environmental management systems. This year’s report also offers case studies and articles on existing building commissioning, energy management, waste diversion, and tenant engagement. Several BOMA BESt certified buildings from across the country are also featured. Download the report. An increasing number of property management firms and government organizations are using BOMA BESt to assess the environmental performance of their buildings. At the end of 2011, nearly 3100 buildings have used the BOMA BESt assessment survey (since the Program’s inception in 2005).
