HVAC Companies Among Leaders in Canada

The Globe And Mail top growing companies in Canada list includes businesses with energy efficiency and HVAC connections.

The Globe and Mail recently published a list of Canada’s Top Growing Companies in 2021. The line-up highlighted almost 450 growing companies across the country and included some with noticeable HVAC and energy efficiency connections.

Canada’s Top Growing Company is a voluntary program launched 2019 by The Globe and Mail. The program ranks participating private and public Canadian businesses on their three-year revenue growth.

Aspiring companies had to complete a full application and supply supporting financial documentation for both 2017 and 2020.

To qualify, a company had to have at least $2 million in annual sales in its most recent fiscal year. Companies had to be for-profit, Canadian run, headquartered in Canada and be independent.

In what is being called the trendsetters of Canadian businesses, following is a section of companies from the Globe‘s list offering HVAC and energy efficiency related services (ranking on the list included in brackets):

Efficiency Capital Inc. (31)

Located in Toronto and led by CEO Chandra Ramadurai, the company develops, owns, and invests in energy efficiency projects to help lower consumers energy consumption. Efficiency Capital Inc. reported a three-year revenue growth of 1,998%. The 2020 revenue was between $2-$5 million.

Parity Inc. (59) 

Located in Toronto and led by CEO Brad Pilgrim, the company develops software to analyze and manage use in residential buildings and to monitor HVAC systems. The company reported a three-year revenue growth of 979%. Their 2020 revenue was between $2-$5 million.

Green Brain Inc. (65)

Located in Richmond Hill, Ont. and led by CEO Ryan Hamid, the company designs and delivers energy-efficiency programs committed to promoting conservation and sustainability. Green Brain Inc reported a three-year revenue growth of 881% and its 2020 revenue was between $5-$10 million.

LPI Mechanical Inc. (195)

Located in Brampton, Ont. and led by CEO Italo Lunardo, the company provides, designs, and builds HVAC and plumbing solutions for the commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. LPI Mechanical Inc reported a three-year revenue growth of 211% and its 2020 revenue was between $25-$50 million.

Located in Saskatoon and led by CEO Kevin Bergeron, miEnergy designs, constructs, and maintains renewable energy systems from utility scale to commercial and residential. The company reported a three-year revenue growth of 176% and a 2020 revenue of between $5-10 million.

Located in Toronto and led by CEO Lucie Andlauer, Sunterra Renewables develops and manages geothermal systems and clean energy solutions for developers. The company reported revenue growth of 153% between 2017 and 2020, with 2020 revenue between $10-25 million.

Located in Mississauga, Ont. and led by CEO Marshal Sterio, Surgically Clean Air the supplies air purifiers for commercial, industrial, and residential use. The company reported a three-year revenue growth of 145% and a 2020 revenue of between $5-10 million.

Located in Vaughan, Ont. and led by CEO Angelo Verardi, AV Mechanical Inc. offers plumbing and hydronics services for home builders, commercial contractors, and homeowners. The company reported a three-year revenue growth of 136% and its 2020 revenue was between $5-$10 million.
