Grundfos Launches Digital Next Circulators in Canada

September 13, 2023 | By Doug Picklyk

The company invited contractor customers and wholesale partners from across the country to reveal and provide hands-on training with the new circulators for the residential hydronics market.

On Tuesday, September 12, Grundfos Canada hosted its Digital Next product reveal in Toronto inviting key account managers along with contractor customers and wholesale partners from across the country to celebrate and provide hands-on training with the company’s new UPSe 15-58 and digital ALPHA 15-58 series of circulators for the residential hydronics market.

Sherry Primm, senior area sales director, domestic building services – Canada, noted that these pumps have software in them that can be updated in the future. That intelligence also helps contractors in the field. “You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to set up these pumps,” says Primm. And she adds that, “Canada is ripe for this product because it is very hydronically based … and our goal is to shrink what you need on your truck to one pump.”

Although a European company, Grundfos elected to launch this new range of pumps in North America first. The company estimates there are some 200 million small circulator pumps in service in the world, and their new digital pumps can step in and provide an efficient replacement for 90% of those pumps on the market.

The invited contractors and wholesale partners were able see the pumps in action and ask questions. The UPSe 15-58, and the  digital ALPHA 15-58 pump with its touchscreen digital display and Bluetooth connectivity to the Grundfos GO app, offer the highest Hydraulic Institute Energy Rating in the market at 193.

Omar Bulnes, Grundfos senior regional sales director, domestic building services – Americas, cuts a ceremonial circulator-shaped cake.

The pumps have an automatic self-venting feature, dry-run protection and troubleshooting aid with alarm and warning lights. The ALPHA display shows flow, power and head, and with the app contractors can see trend data and an event log for improved troubleshooting analysis.

An enhanced AUTOADAPT feature on the digital ALPHA also allows for easy setup and commissioning.
